We’re waist deep into the holiday season and life is good! I’m baking up a storm, reveling in the holiday decorations and enjoying the cool weather. But let’s talk shopping and snacks. If you’re like me when it comes to holiday shopping, you wake up early to hit the stores before they get nuts, but sometimes you run into a problem. About two hours in, it’ll dawn on you that you forgot to pack snacks! Nothing is worse than realizing you don’t have any healthy snacks in your bag to fuel up for the long day of shopping ahead. So stock up on these healthy snack brands, pop one in your bag and never make an unhealthy choice at the food court or vending machine again!
GO!
Healthy snack brands you need to try
Just a note about Oui In France’s content going forward. I’ve shifted focus and you can read more about that here.
Snacks make everything better. Road trips, flights, long lines — no matter where you are or what you’re doing, a snack is a must! Healthy snacks are a staple of my diet both when I’m home and out. And the easier, the better. I’ve been so impressed with all the healthy snack offerings lately that I’ve seen around the web, all infused with healthy ingredients and no garbage, that I had to try them for myself.
Here are some of my favorite bars, chips and other healthy snack ideas that are great to keep you fueled when you brave the malls this holiday season or whenever. And let’s not forget that they all make awesome stocking stuffers for that health-conscious guy or gal in your life. Or treat yourself.
1. Health Warrior Chia Bars
I’m a huge fan of healthy bars. They’re easy to throw in your bag, easy to eat and it’s even better when they have healthy ingredients. Enter Health Warrior’s Chia Bar Super Snacks. Available in a bunch of delicious flavors like coconut, acai berry, chocolate peanut butter and more, these little 110-calorie bars will satisfy your craving for something sweet and nourish your body with omega-3s, fiber and a bit of protein. They’re also gluten and GMO free and 100% vegan, and the best part is they taste delicious. The chia seeds give them a fun texture and they’re low in sugar but no lacking in taste. Whenever I eat Health Warrior Chia Bars, I feel like I’m getting a treat since chia seeds are not mainstream (yet) in France and there’s nothing like it here. If you’re in the U.S., these fun bars are a definite go-to for whenever you need a little pick me up. (buy on Amazon)
2. Nick’s Sticks
Craving meat? Sweets not your thing? Look no further than Nick’s Sticks for beef and turkey jerky sticks that don’t contain any junk. Made from the Midwest’s best grass-fed beef or free-range turkey, these gluten-free healthy snacks are simple to pack and are perfect if you follow a paleo diet. Or whenever you feel like some jerky. Choose from original or spicy and rest assured they’re all free of hormones, MSG, sugar, red dye and more. (buy on Amazon)
3. Krush Bars
I heard about Krush Protein Bars on Instagram a few weeks back and had to buy a few for myself (Quest Bars are another fave). Loaded with 20 grams of protein and available in fun flavors like Birthday Cake and Baked Apple Pie, these bars are an awesome choice when a sweets craving hits. They have a peanut butter base and are a little drier than other bars I’ve tasted but are absolutely worth a try. I’d recommend Krush Bars for those of you who firstly like peanut butter and are accustomed to eating protein bars. Two thumbs up! (buy on Amazon)
4. SuperSeedz
Forget scooping out a pumpkin and roasting the seeds yourself. With SuperSeedz, one of my favorite healthy snack brands, you can get your pumpkin seed fix any time of the year. The tasty seeds come in a variety of flavors including Cinnamon & Sugar, Somewhat Spicy and Sea Salt and each serving delivers 8 grams of protein. A handful or two of these gluten-free vegan seeds is all you need to fuel up and kill your craving. A pantry (and shopping) must-have! (buy on Amazon)

Thanks for these great snack ideas. I always carry whole natural almonds in my purse for when hunger strikes.

Oh yes, almonds are great too! I love the ones with a coating of cocoa powder. Happy holidays to you, Jackie!

Great ideas for snacks! I must admit, its rare that I don’t pack my snacks, but just in case, almonds are always in my purse. 😉
Diane says
Yup, almonds are so easy to pack and so popular. Do you get the flavored ones or just plain? I’m a fan of the cocoa coated ones like I said above in another reply. Just enough chocolate to make them interesting. 😉
