…and it’s Monday already. How does that happen? In any case, I hope it’s shaping up to be a good one for you. If you’re new to Monday Mishmash, it’s a conversational roundup-style post with no real purpose other than to chitchat. I update you on happenings around here, share some fun links and let you know about anything else going on. So with that, let’s get started.
How was your weekend?
Tom and I got home last night from a weekend away in La Rochelle, which is in the nearby department of Charente-Maritime. The weather was sunny and warm, which was a welcome change after all the rain we’d been having. Dagny was just as happy to be there as we were. For more about the coastal town, click here for a post I wrote on La Rochelle after our visit last year.
What have you been up to? Have any spring plans? As for us, we’re staying put in and around where we live until the end of May when we head south. Where to? You’ll have to wait and see…
My latest Facebook Live
Thanks to everyone who has been joining me on Facebook Live. The feedback has been so positive and I’m happy I bit the bullet and started doing the Lives. It gets less and less scary each time. Thank you so incredibly much for watching, sharing, and your support.
Have you tuned in to any of my Facebook Lives? If not, I’d love for you to start with the one below from La Rochelle. I’m calling what I do “Everyday French life and beyond” and this was some of the beyond. Tom and I live in the Maine-et-Loire so it was a treat to head to this coastal town for some sun and good eats. The weather couldn’t have been better, so I hope you’ll check it out. You can watch below, on FB here, or on YouTube.
Here’s why I’m doing Facebook Live in France >>
I also did a shorter broadcast from the charming Loire-Atlantique town of Clisson the weekend prior, so if that’s of interest, you can find my live videos here over on FB (or YouTube, don’t forget to subscribe!).
In case you missed it…
Some recent posts on the blog:
Speaking of the blog, Oui In France will be 6 years old this June. I can’t believe it!
From around the web
- I read a post on Cup of Jo last week about whether ice in wine is a do or don’t. A few of you on Facebook told me that you’d never add ice to wine and others admitted to doing it at home but never out at a restaurant. While in La Rochelle, I saw what’s called a “piscine” (pool) which is a glass of rosé with ice cubes. It really is a thing, like Cup of Jo said. I may have had one myself. If you’re not down with ice in wine, these wine “stones” will chill your drink without watering it down.
