Today I’m bringing you some entertainment, Google Analytics style. We all find blogs different ways either via social media, word of mouth, Bloglovin’, from other blogs and of course via search engine queries. And here are the best of the best. Read on for a few crazy search terms that helped people find my blog and some Oui In France blog stats.
Go check out Oui In France blog stats!
Oui In France blog stats
2014 has come and gone but I’d like to take a second to give you some insight into the behind-the-scenes stuff here at Oui In France. Let’s talk about some blog stats and my readers (love you all!):
Oui In France readers:
- Where are you from?
- 39% from the USA (with over 7% of my total readers in the state of California!)
- 23% from France
- 8% from the UK
- 5% from Canada
- 57% of you read Oui In France from your desktop computer.
- 35% use Chrome as your browser.
- For those of you who read Oui In France on a mobile device, 40% use an iPhone.
- About 70% of you are female. (I say “about” because I didn’t enable that part of Google Analytics until recently, oops)
Other Oui In France blog stats:
- Biggest traffic source is organic search.
- When it comes to social media, Facebook brings me the most page views.
- Average time spent on my site per session is 2 minutes and 19 seconds.
And now for the entertainment
Lots of normal keywords helped you find Oui In France like “dating a French guy” and “how to look French” but there were some crazy ones too.
Here are some of my favorite keywords that led people to Oui In France:
Hairy French women – 19 of you were looking for hairy French women and I sincerely hope you didn’t find what you were looking for on my blog.
Hairy legs women – Not far behind, 7 of you were looking for women with hairy legs. Any luck?
Why are French guys so weird – I don’t know?
Does dr dagny do escort sessions – Scared to even know who Dr. Dagny is but he/she is definitely not on my blog. Bye bye.
Why is France the most depressed country in the world? – Is that even true? Can’t be.
What percentage of french women shave? – France’s national census isn’t even allowed to ask about religion or skin color so finding stats on shaving? Slim to none.
Strip my wife – Sounds hot but this probably isn’t the site for you.

I honestly can’t remember, but I think I found it on bloglovin!
Oh, and I’m from Norway! 🙂
Diane says
Cool, I love Bloglovin’. Happy to have you here — would love to visit Norway one day…
Bayyinah says
I found your site on bloglovin! lol funny post! how were you able to see the keywords that led people to your blog?
Diane says
Hi there, welcome! Glad you liked the post. I pulled all my stats from Google Analytics 😉

Very creative. You’ve inspired me to reveal my top searches. Just last week i noticed a bunch of hits coming in from the following search term
“best country for anal sex”. Go ahead, I dare you to type it into the search engines right now.
At the time of this post, i am in the number one slot for “best counry for anal sex”.
um ok? I promise, i never wrote a word about anal sex. Never! I swear!
Diane says
Sweet Jesus. How in the hell does that search term lead to your blog. I have to Google it now
Diane says
OK, just googled. Not only are you in the search results but YOU ARE #1. hahahahah. it seems like a commenter mentioned anal sex (travelguy) but how the heck would you rank #1 after just a simple mention??
Christine @ A Keane Sense of Adventure says
I guess the stereotype that French women being hairy and don’t shave is alive and well today ha. And France being depressed? That a new one!
Diane says
Hi there, the depressed queries led to a post I did on that very topic after reading an article about how the French are all depressed. Love reading through all the keywords hahaha

So… how many of your readers are from Belgium? ;D
I honestly don’t remember how I ended on your blog! I think it must have had something to do with my former coworker, she is an American living in Belgium, and sometimes (rarely) she struggles on some word/expression meanings, so maybe I ended up here while searching for a way to explain it in a clear way (it’s sometimes difficult for native speakers to do that! 🙂 )
I’ve liked the themes you talk about, and it has reminded me of how I felt while in Japan, so I subscribed immediately to your mail newsletter and I read your every post! 😉
(and I should review how to use correctly the past tense in English because I think I’m mixing everything, sorry! 😀 )
Diane says
I will have to look up my Belgium stats. No more than 10% though. So happy you can relate to what i write about. 😉
And your English is great! You don’t mix up your tenses — all very easy to read and understand so great job! You should hear me try to conjugate subjunctif on the spot with a verb I don’t know. Terrrrrrrrrrible.
Aurore says
Thank you so much for your feedback on my English! 🙂
At first I had written “I liked the themes you talk about” (meaning “since the first time I read your blog”), and then I thought “wait, it sounds as if I don’t like them anymore!” so I changed the tense 😀
Don’t worry, subjunctif is hard for everyone, native speakers included! 😀

It doesn’t surprise me that 39% of your readers are from the USA and 7% from California. France is a much better place to live ! In the USA we deal with an overwhelming amount of corruption in the government and the medical system complete with unethical spin doctors. Though no country on the planet is perfect, I do believe that France is still by far more superior. This is because they treat human beings with dignity in their health care system. They treat people of all ages with dignity and respect. That alone speaks for itself.
Diane says
I agree that France has a lot of good things going for it but no system is perfect, like you said. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Mel says
Word of mouth – your Mom! I was telling her one day how I really wanted a blog to share my photography and she mentioned your blog – she had you send a few tips too to get me started!! The fact that you live in a different country to where you grew up resonates with me, since I am an Irish expat here in the US.
Diane says
Hello! I know exactly who you are, Mel. 😉 Do you have any trouble with Americans correcting your accent? My post from last week got a comment from another Irish reader who has a problem with people correcting her accent (native tongue is English). So strange! Thanks for reading!
Diane says
Ah and i just realized that Irish person I was referring to in the other post was you, sorry didn’t look closely at the name!
Ashley @ A Lady Goes West says
You found me, but I’m so glad you did. These stats are great. I mean, some of those terms … hehhehe. But seriously, nice use of your Analytics here to get to know your audience. I’m a California female, so I definitely fit in with what you found. 🙂
Diane says
Yes, so happy I discovered your blog. I think I’m going to try the new Bodypump launch Friday
Joy @MyTravelingJoys says
Wow! Totally bizarre stats! I think the strangest one that keeps popping up on mine is “hells angels turkey.” I posted some photos once and I still get hits from it. 🙂
Diane says
Hahaha, well it could be worse. Didn’t even know Hells Angels existed in Turkey!
Ze Coach says
I think I found your blog on a blog of a French expat in the US.
It’s scary to see how much information Google have on us so they can tell what is your sex when you’re browsing on the internet. What is even scarier is that they can also tell if the author of a blog has hairy legs so people looking for that can be redirected to the right blog!… Hihi, just teasing you 😉
Great post Diane.
Diane says
hahaha you know, now that i think about it I didn’t shave my legs today. Or yesterday. Glad you enjoyed the post 😉
Ze Coach says
Well, with the “internet of things”, your leg shaver is transmitting in real time this information so Google can make a graph and make it available to the world, isn’t that awesome? 😉
