Sharing is caring, right? Today I’m sharing some blogs I’ve been loving lately that’ll keep you entertained. Some are France and expat focused and some aren’t. But they’re all worth a look.
GO!
What I’m loving lately
Let’s kick off the weekend with some new reading material.
Here’s what I’ve been loving lately:
The Simply Luxurious Life
Shannon of The Simply Luxurious Life has crafted a beautiful lifestyle blog that’s all about refined living on an everyday income. The focus is on quality over quantity, timeless fashions instead of trendy ones and everything else that’ll help you live a truly fulfilling life. A fellow France lover and the proud owner of a handsome Cavalier King Charles spaniel named Norman, Shannon’s blog is not to be missed.
Sisterhood of the Traveling WAGS
This fun blog is run by two gals living in Switzerland. Over at Sisterhood of the Traveling WAGS, Aleks and Sophie touch on relationship topics, shopping, beauty, travel and more. Both living in the Swiss Alps because of their husbands’ jobs, they met each other over a few bottles of wine one night and realized they were destined to be friends. Oh, and they’re nice. So there’s that.
A Lady Goes West
Ashley lives in San Francisco and is the personal trainer and group fitness instructor behind one of my fave healthy living blogs, A Lady Goes West. We get a glimpse into her life including all the details on new Les Mills launches, the latest in health and fitness trends, tips on all-things-health and more. Always smiling and inspiring, Ashley is popular for a reason, so check her out.
The Californienne
Originally from California, Marianne is an American au pair in France and she blogs over at The Californienne. She shares info about her life caring for two French kids, travels around France and beyond and my personal fave, How not to be awkward in France. I can definitely relate!
Oh God, My Wife Is German
I have never been to Germany, have no plans to go there and don’t speak a word of German, but the anonymous author of this blog has a style that’s so engaging that I can’t help but read his every word. My fave post: How the German language is trying to kill you. Absolutely worth a read!
Something Swanky Desserts and Designs
Ashton’s blog is pure gold but I’m too focused on these Skinny Funfetti Buttermilk Pancakes to click on anything else right now. They’re made with oat flour (great for those who are gluten-free), taste great and are way healthier than box mixes. Did I mention they’re pretty?
What are you up to this weekend? Has anyone seen Fifty Shades of Grey? Finding a VO version here is proving difficult and something about dubbed movies just isn’t the same.
Lynn says
Oh man, that German blog just had me rolling!

Right??? His stuff is incredible — click around a bit!
Ashley @ A Lady Goes West says
Hi Diane! Oh my gosh, you are too sweet to include me on this list. Thank you so much for reading. And I’ll have to check out these other bloggers. Have a wonderful weekend, my blogging buddy! 🙂

You’re very welcome. 😉 I started reading your blog over a year ago and I keep coming back. You’d be so proud of me. I did Bodyattack Wednesday night and survived. It was a smaller group so I couldn’t hide behind anyone, but what made it easier was having a friend to suffer through the class with. I’ve befriended an English-speaking (one of the few) high school student at the gym. We like the same classes and he’s happy to practice his English. And I like the camaraderie. That damn track with the group split into two facing each other kills me. The squat jumps back and forth ahhhhhhh.
Tom saw American Sniper and didn’t love it. He thought it was too patriotic and I’ve heard similar sentiments from non-Americans. But my American friends and family all loved it, so let me know what you think. I’m a Bradley Cooper fan regardless.
Ashley @ A Lady Goes West says
Oh and I don’t have a lot of plans this weekend outside of teaching group fitness of course. And I HAVEN’T seen Fifty Shades yet … not sure if I will. My husband wants to see American Sniper first! 🙂

Love this! Thanks for sharing, I always like finding new blogs to follow! ;D

Thank you so very much for the feature in your blog – totally unexpected and we are super touched. We follow your blog regularly so it’s amazing to get feedback from bloggers we love. We actually just saw 50 Shades last week and we have mixed emotions about it. We liked it more than we thought we would but at the same time weren’t blown away by it xx
Diane says
You’re very welcome! OK, I have to see Fifty Shades, so curious now. I LOVE JAMIE DORNAN
Marianne says
Thanks so much for including me in this! What a compliment! 🙂

You’re very welcome. You do a great job!
