For more than a year, I’d been using an upright tote bag for my gym bag and it was time to trade that in for something more functional that actually closes. I’ve been a fan of Fabletics for a while now and luckily for me, they also have a nice range of accessories — including stylish gym bags at affordable prices. Last week, I had a look on the Fabletics France site and bought myself The Shift Bag. I absolutely love it, so if you’re in need of a new gym bag, read on for my review.

Fabletics in France: The Shift Bag review
What is Fabletics?
First, if you’re unfamiliar with Fabletics, here’s what you need to know.
The activewear brand was co-founded by Kate Hudson and JustFab and is a subscription fitness apparel site that makes looking good at the gym affordable and easy. From their website: “Fabletics apparel focuses on fit, function and style, offering complete, coordinated outfits for your workout and beyond.”
How does it work?
You sign up with your email address, take a short quiz about your style preferences, body type, etc. and then get to browse a bunch of outfits that usually consist of 2-3 pieces. If you choose to buy, your first outfit is 50% off (awesome deal, really, and available on all of their country specific sites) starting at just $25 with my link (click here for France and here for the USA to get the deal). By signing up you also have access to VIP pricing. There’s no membership or enrollment fee to have access to the VIP pricing.
As a VIP, you have the option each month to either 1) buy one of the outfits recommended for you via email on the 1st, 2) buy something else on the site 3) buy nothing at all. And if you choose to buy nothing, just pass by the 5th of the month in one quick click, and you’re not charged. If you do choose to purchase an outfit, you pay $49.99 (it’s 49.95 euros on the French site) or a slight bit more depending on what outfit you pick.

The Shift Bag review
So back to gym bag shopping. I needed something that could hold a towel, water bottle and a few other small odds and ends that was fashionable but not too expensive. Fabletics fits the bill and I was so happy to see a wide range of accessories including bags, hats, headbands and more in addition to their outfits. I liked a few of their bags and decided on The Shift Bag.
First, I love that the carryall is a dark color and wouldn’t get dirty after a week of being thrown into a locker the same way a light colored bag would. I also loved the pattern. The print is called constellation and it has a little more flair than a solid bag. The fabric feels silky to the touch and is reflective and water resistant. The hardware on the bag is solid and good quality and there’s just enough space for my needs. It can easily be thrown over your shoulder and can also accommodate a yoga mat with the strap that clips over the top of the bag.
The inside of the lightweight bag is lined and nicely designed with a zipper pouch for the important stuff and other small side pouches for your phone, keys or whatever. There’s also a water bottle compartment.
The retail price is $59.95 and the VIP pricing makes it $49.95.
So for my sporty readers, I can’t recommend Fabletics enough and unlike most brands I love, it’s actually available to those of us living in France!

Cute bag. Have you ever seen something for carrying a big pilates ball? I would love to go on foot, but I just can’t wrangle the mat and the ball (it’s byob–bring your own ball).

Hmmm, let me think on that. Nothing is coming to mind. Maybe one of those mesh/net market bags and then throw it over your shoulder. May be too bulky for a regular bag…

It is really pretty too – I will be hitting the gym hard next year but I am pregnant right now so not much gym happening!
