It seems like people everywhere are looking for more out of life. The millennial quarter-life crisis is real. After working in the real world for a while and falling into a routine, we think, “Is this it?” Been there. Then we get into our heads and are paralyzed by our indecisiveness. We debate over whether or not we should take a leap and try something new in life. Maybe it has to do with a career change, starting a business, going back to school, making a major move, committing to someone, starting a new fitness plan or something else that feels monumental and scary as hell. Are you vacillating between “should I do it?” or “shouldn’t I?”
Read on!
I’m here to tell you to JUST DO IT.
Stop waiting and go after what you want. Do it for yourself.
I know there’s something you want that you don’t currently have. Maybe it’s something big or maybe it’s something that requires a baby step that you can’t seem to force yourself to take.
What’s holding you back?
Did someone tell you that you need more experience? Or that the timing isn’t right? Or you need more money/education/another BS reason before moving forward? Wait until you’re ready, they say.
But there will always be obstacles to overcome — that is only normal.
We wait for a sign… that may never come. We wait for that elusive “readiness” that hides just out of reach. But guess what. You’re already ready.
No magical fairy from the heavens of dream land is going to descend from the sky and bop you on the head to give you some kind of divine OK.
That’s not real life.
If you wait for your white knight or for something to just fall into your lap, you may be waiting awhile.
People tell you they aren’t sure if you should take the leap. They don’t know if you should try something new, something that is scary or risky. Everyone has an opinion. But other people don’t know best.
Know how you find out if you’re doing the right thing?
You do it. You try. You take action.
It’s NOT by waiting around and analyzing yourself to death.
You’ll find out right away if it was the right choice or not. You’ll feel it. And if not? Then you go back to what you were doing before and try something else. But at least you’ve tried.
People that never take action toward the things they want most out of life are the ones that will end up full of regret.
Do you need a push? Let me be the one to give you that push. Need encouragement? Drop me a line.
I don’t claim to have any secrets about how to live your fullest life. But one thing I do know…
Life is short.
Make yours count.

It was after reading a post of yours that I decided to take the plunge with a French holiday home. I was worried about the Brexit effect (and still am to some extent) and how I would be perceived being a single, middle-aged woman, but eventually I realized that if I didn’t do it now I never would. I don’t know yet how it will go as it’s early days but at least I’ll have tried. Thanks for the wake-up call that I needed. x

That makes me so happy, Fiona. Glad my post inspired you to take that next step. Sometimes little pushes come from unexpected places. 😉

Best post ever, Diane! I cannot tell you how many poo poos I got when I decided to open a cateringbusiness after my boys left for college. Then when I decided to go to la Cordon Bleu in Paris some people thought I was crazy. I am so happy I did because it helped my business immensely and also helped me know I could do it. NOW is the time to try something! Now!

Yup, and those poo poos, no natter how well intended, can really start to influence your own thought process and self-doubt creeps in. But GO YOU! So happy you started our own business once your kids were grown and then went to the Cordon Bleu. Glad we’re on the same wavelength and hope you’ve proven all the naysayers wrong! 😉
