Sometimes you just want to sink your teeth into a creamy, peanut buttery Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup. Or maybe whip up some pumpkin bread. Or make s’mores with “normal” marshmallows that aren’t sugary sweet. But where can you find American foods in France?
Read on for my suggestions on where to buy American foods in France!
Where to buy American foods in France
There is no shortage of delicious food in France. From bread and wine to produce and even the regular stuff, I find that the quality of food available in France wins hands down when compared to the U.S. Many regular foods here seem to be of a higher quality with fewer preservatives and a better taste (chicken, for example). But sometimes a craving hits and you need a taste of America. When in desperate need of something from home, I turn to the internet for American foods in France.
For American products (not usually the healthy variety), there are a few options. I’ve shopped at all of the stores listed below and I think they all offer a great service. You can get everything from baking supplies to cereal to candy to sauces and a whole lot more — at a price though. A regular can of pumpkin is close to 4 euros and the shipping isn’t free. But hey, a girl has to have pumpkin on hand to make smoothies. And the occasional Reese’s.
Where to buy American foods in France
1) My Little America
My Little America has a nice selection of American food products including baking supplies, snacks, soda, candy and more. It’s organized by category so you can find what you’re looking for easily. This is my go-to source for cans of pumpkin and semisweet chocolate chips. They even have seasonal products which are especially handy around Thanksgiving.
2) CometeShop
More recently, I heard of CometeShop. This online store has an extensive selection of food products in addition to some drugstore items like nail polish, lipgloss and more. Their site is modern and placing and receiving an order with them was seamless from beginning to end. Only downside? They don’t have canned pumpkin!
3) Thanksgiving store in Paris
If you’re in Paris and in need of some seasonal goodies, this is your store. Located in the Marais, Thanksgiving has Stove Top stuffing, cranberry sauce and all kinds of non-seasonal items you can grab for your feast, or just because. You can shop here online as well and prices are in line with the two options above. They also have a selection of Canadian, British and Mexican products.
4) Amazon.co.uk
While some food items aren’t allowed to be shipped to France, many are and Amazon UK‘s selection is great. You do pay a little more on shipping but if there’s something your really need, this is where to buy it. It’s also handy for Mason jar equivalents here and let’s not forget English language books.
Hi, this was very specific, and just what we were looking for! Our parents are in Paris and my mom is really missing her pumpkin pie. I’m trying to help her out.
You mentioned canned pumpkin a couple times here…have you been able to find any? Little America’s website says they’re sold out, and the link to the Thanksgiving store isn’t working for us.
Thanks!
Sarah
Hi Sarah, I got mine about a month ago via a seller on Amazon.fr. With shipping, I think it was 7 or so a can. Also if you’re in Paris, I saw on Instagram that Boneshaker Donuts has some. Worth a trip for the donuts too!
