From the crack of dawn until long after the sun sets, a cruise vacation provides something for every type of traveler. You can unwind on your cabin’s balcony overlooking the expansive ocean landscape or partake in shipboard activities like water slides, fine dining and gambling or stay busy and go on an excursion at every port. I’ve been fortunate enough to have gone on two cruises in my life – both to the Caribbean – and now that I’m living in Europe, some new cruise itineraries have piqued my interest.

Last minute cruise deals
Sometimes kicking back and relaxing is just the vacation you need, when itineraries don’t matter and all you want to do is soak in the sun, eat good food and not have a care in the world. And other cruisers want a trip full of excursions, culture and nonstop adventure. Regardless, my picks for last minute cruise deals will help every type of traveler find the perfect cruise.
If you need some summer inspiration, here are some of my favorite sites to help you get last minute cruise deals:
Cruisedeals.co.uk
Get ready to recharge and refresh with one of the last minute cruise deals from Cruisedeals.co.uk. Choose from short breaks, week-long adventures, river cruises and more this summer from all the major cruise lines that will take you all over Europe. Some of my faves? Norwegian fjords, Scandinavia & Russia and the Greek Isles top my list of places to see. There’s something here for all budgets.
BestCruises.com
I used BestCruises.com to book both of my cruises and was pleasantly surprised when we got upgraded to a balcony room that spoiled us rotten. How? Just book “guaranteed oceanview,” which means if all the regular oceanview rooms (just a window that overlooks the ocean, no access outside) are booked by customers who specifically requested a regular oceanview room, anyone who booked a “guaranteed oceanview” got an upgrade to a balcony room. Is this typical? I don’t know, but BestCruises.com has competitive prices for all the major cruise lines and itineraries along with a dedicated staff to help you choose. So whatever room you choose, this site will make sure it’s the right one for you.
Cruise lines’ websites
Sometimes there are perks to booking directly with the cruise lines such as shipboard credits and other upgrades you won’t find elsewhere. It pays to check out the deals each cruise line is offering on their home page before booking anything through another site. Also, many cruise lines offer loyalty programs (like NCL’s Latitudes program) that will reward you with all kinds of perks you can’t get anywhere else.
