After months of waiting, the day had finally arrived! Greg and Gara’s wedding! The highlight of June was — hands down — our whirlwind trip back to the US for my brother’s wedding. It took place right on the Hudson and was a beautiful day on every level. Seeing family and friends during the week that followed was a lot of fun as well and was exactly the getaway we both needed to refresh and recharge.

Is there such a thing as cheap flights to New York 2013? In our case, yes! We booked our flights to New York right after Christmas and got a great deal for just under 400 euros round trip with no stopovers direct to Newark. Since we didn’t get ripped off on the flight, that gave us a little extra money to enjoy the sights of New York — and that we did. So without further ado…
First up, a shot of NYC. It’s no secret that New York City sunsets are magical, and Tom captured this stunner on our walk to Shake Shack on 8th Ave (worth a visit if you’ve never been!):
