Dagny had a smile plastered all over her face this past weekend and I wasn’t far behind. This weekend was the nicest weekend I think I’ve ever experienced in France. Maybe all the nonstop rain is clouding my memory but really wow, it was gorgeous. The 60-65 F temps and sun was a welcome change and my phone has never EVER shown a forecast like this. Am I dreaming? Let’s hope this is a sign of a gorgeous spring ahead.
Here’s a look at our weekend — spent mostly outdoors — in photos… GO!
The only “person” who enjoyed the weather more than we did was Dagny who just couldn’t get enough. Her face seemed to be constantly smiling and the almost-spring weather brought out all the good scents for her to track on our walks. On Saturday, we picked up Tom’s parents and did a long hike through an area not far from where they live called Parc des Ardoisières. The park consists of trails, streams and a whole lot of slate that gives the area a unique feel. But before the park was created for us to enjoy today, the area was a working mine for many years but closed down in the 90s after all the slate had been extracted. The remnants of the mining days were put to good use and the actual paths are made of little pieces of slate.
Here are some of my favorite photos from our hike:
We also had our first Spring weekend in Istria and the nice weather will continue all week. I’m glad the wet winter is finally over!
Me too, hoping this isn’t just a fluke and that the nice weather will stay. We shall see!
Which photo is your fave? The one of Dagny, of course !
Excellent choice!
The photo of Dagny is my favorite!
I have to agree 😉
I love the photo of the white tree behind the stone fence. Beautiful.
Beautiful photos and Dagny looks incredible happy!
My favorite is Dagny as well, but the nature pictures have me so jealous! Living in Bahrain, I really miss the beauty of green paths and flowers blooming! Your post makes me want to head out for a walk but all I would see is sand and palm trees… sigh.
I have to agree. 😉 I think the sand and palm trees are beautiful but I can see how if they’re all you see day after day, they can get old and lose their allure. Thanks for weighing in!
wonderful photos, Diane, especially those with blooming trees.
Thank you, happy you enjoyed them. Hope spring has sprung for you!
