During the height of the pandemic, I reached out to the Beillevaire team to see if they’d be open to me making a video at their production site. Not only did they say yes, but they showed me one of their partner dairy farms in addition to the facility where all the deliciousness is made. After being postponed due to the pandemic restrictions in France and life, I finally went out to Machecoul in the Loire-Atlantique last month to see first-hand where their milk comes from and how the products are made. It was a tasty experience!
If you aren’t familiar with Beillevaire, they’re a French dairy producer you can find all over France. In addition to their shops in Paris, Angers and all over, they have a strong market presence and that is how the brand started.
They make excellent quality butter, cheese, desserts, yogurt and more. In these two behind-the-scenes video, you’ll get a feel for what Beillevaire does. We go to a farm and then we spend the day talking to the employees and seeing the products.
As I mention in the video, Beillevaire products became a fast favorites of mine shortly after moving to France when I discovered them at my local market. Now nearly 10 years later, it was an amazing experience to go and see where everything is made. Seeing the work that goes into the final products has made me appreciate them even more.
A huge thanks to the Beillevaire team for making this happen!
Have a look at the two videos below and be sure to turn on the subtitles if you don’t speak French! If you enjoy this type of content, please let me know and share with a friend. A ton of work went into making these. Thanks for your support!
Thank you for this
You’re very welcome!
Wonderful to watch, thank you Diane. So dedicated to their work.
You’re very welcome!!
how wonderful! Thank you for this video
Thanks so much for sharing, it is great to have access to videos of more than the big tourist destinations and I love that you share them with us.
I have shown my students these videos. Very interesting discussions ensued about the hands-on nature of the manufacture and how the quality is maintained this way. Also on the fact that much glass is used in place of plastic that we here in Australia see so much of.
I just learned about your site while watching “French in Plain Sight” on YouTube.
I really liked your videos on the dairy and the bakery (patisserie). They brought back good memories (I grew up on a farm and my paternal grandmother’s family were all professional bakers).
Welcome! Glad you found me through Alex. He has a great channel. 😉 So glad you enjoy my content. Thank you!
Beillevaire has a stand at my Saturday market. They’re the best. Thank you so much for these videos.
